Christmas is two or three days away and the older I get, the less it feels like it should--the less it feels like I remember. There are a few signs of it slipping through day to day activities--parking lots full up and cranky mothers who have no circulation running to their fingers due to shopping bags heavy with Christmas morning elation--resulting int he boy who sits outside the loading dock door, worn after two hours of work, his head between his arms that rest on his knees; his cigarette is burned to the filter and barely noticed
