that was the single most painful experience of my life. . crushing my thumb under the heavy door on the safe. and i was so mad, because i was getting so much done, because i still had so much i was going to do. because i leave work early too much and i am trying not to, and i was just about to eat a cheese danish. and just... absolute crushing pain. i've never been brought in a rush to such a sensation of immediacy. the pain at the hospital when they burned a hole through my thumbnail was worse, but it was momentary. i was able to prepare myself.
