i was looking through a box of my brother's sega games because my dad said he thought he saw something about hitchhikers and galaxies. i found the copy of way of the peaceful warrior i foolishly bought him for his 18th birthday under a sketch book (i had an identical one: yellow cover filled with pastels and markers and cartoon characters with big oval eyeballs). in the sketchbook i found six pages, front and back covered in a conversation between matt and amy, written in coloured pencil and full of falling in love. back to the book, i honestly hoped he would read it. hoped he would get the same beautiful feeling i had the day after work when i stayed at the store and read the whole thing. i can see now that had he read it, he wouldn't have been able to comprehend it. because we are not searching out the same things, just as i am not the same person i was two, three years ago. []

at any rate, i'm glad i found it. i think it is a good time to read it.
