katie and i were leaving lil' katie's apartment last night and we popped on to the sidewalk from, not from an alley more like a garden gate alongside a parking lot you can't enter from that street; so we popped on to the sidewalk from behind some trees and frightened some young man with light skin that was darker than mine and he says something like : ohhh! you scared the shit out of me! two white girls come popping out of nowhere--he may have said something about us being scary looking (which we aren't) something about columbine and it was very funny. i mock chased him with my camera and noted how threatening i am

and katie and i giggled

and walking down the entire block he was dancing and singing in front of us and clicking his heels

he hid around the corner once we got to the end and we turned the other way and looked back and he said 'oh, busted!' and jumped out from the shadows

and we could hear him shouting for some time

what a strange and amusing young man
