good mood

I'm not generally one for stupid poetry in advice columns. But. I actually read some of the paper today and I'm in a good mood.

After a While
Veronica A. Shoffstall

After awhile, you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans.
And furtures have a way of falling down in midflight.
After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn...
WIth every goodbye you learn.

And while the "plant your own garden and decorate your own soul" makes me snicker considerably, it's a fun little thing that has parts I am enjoying.

Other newspaper goodness, you ask? I take my horoscopes quite loosely, so this made me giggle.

"Do something extra or spend a little money on something that will ultimately improve your health. Be open to modern, alternative methods that can reduce stress."

Oh sillySara. Not used to being in a good mood. It's been a good week. How often do I say that? Maybe an hour a day hell even a COUPLE of days.

But a week?

Insanity.

My bank account says I have three hundred and fourty five dollars.

It's been a good two or three years since I've seen that, if ever. Too bad tomorrow it will say I have fifteen.

But. Sara is moving ahead. Watch out now.
